Long Term Care Community Coalition is a state-wide coalition, whose membership includes consumer, civic and professional groups working together to improve nursing home care.

By working together, we have been successful in helping to protect long term care consumers throughout the State. There is still much more to be done. It is essential, now more than ever, that consumer voices be heard.

Membership meetings are held every other month in New York City. Frequently there are guest speakers addressing current nursing home issues and concerns. The meetings are held in the early afternoon to allow upstate members the opportunity to share and exchange ideas on common issues. As a member, you will receive major research work produced by the Coalition, as well as a subscription to our newsletter (4 issues per year). In the past, LTCCC has researched the nursing home survey, complaint and reimbursement systems and released a much hailed report on nursing home profits as well as a lay language version of the State's nursing home code of standards for residents and family members, and a report on the effectiveness of the nursing home enforcement system. Recently, we released research relating to staffing issues.

More importantly, as a member, you will be in the forefront of the health care advocacy in the State. Please consider joining. We need you. Long term care consumers need you. Together we can make a difference.
